April 6, 2017 – San Diego Employers Association (SDEA) and the San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) are offering a selection of 9 free Human Resources (HR) classes on topics important to professionals in the HR field. The courses provide training and tools to best handle the most frequently asked questions about employment law and HR responsibilities.
The course schedule is as follows:
- Thurs. April 13 – Basics of Payroll in California
- Tues. April 18 – Harassment Prevention Training
- Thurs. April 27 – Completing the I-9 Form
- Thurs. May 18 – Exempt vs. Non-Exempt Webinar
- Fri. May 26 – Job Accommodations
- Thurs. June 8 – Leaves of Absence
- Tues. June 20 – Top 10 Difficult Conversations to Have with Employees
- Wed. June 21 – Harassment Prevention Training in Spanish
- Wed. June 28 – Employee Handbook Basics
“We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the San Diego Workforce Partnership to offer classes on important topics relevant to professionals working in Human Resources,” said Chris Bryant, President and CEO of SDEA. “In working with SDWP, we are able to offer the classes free of charge, thereby allowing a broader audience to attend and benefit from each class,” Bryant added.
“Small employers may not have all the HR resources, coaching and training compared to larger businesses that have a dedicated HR department. We are excited to work with the San Diego Employers Association to provide a wide variety of HR classes for employers on our behalf,” said Tina Ngo Bartel, Director of Business Programs and Research at SDWP.
SDEA’s classes are offered from April 13th through June 28th and are free of charge. Classes will be held at SDWP’s community room (3910 University Avenue Suite 300), SDEA’s training facility (8799 Balboa Avenue) and the 211 Connections Center (3860 Calle Fortunada Suite 101). The free HR classes are offered in addition to a variety of other professional development classes taught by SDEA.
