You’ve been with your job for quite some time now. At first, you were really happy because it was new and exciting. You began to love your job, but as time progressed, you got stuck in the same routine. You started to become bored with your job and fell out of love with it, even thought about breaking up with it.
Luckily, Valentines Day is just around the corner and we’re here to play Cupid. It’s never too late to fall back in love with your job.
For some of us, we’ve been working at the same place for so long; we forgot why we chose to work there in the first place. But there are a lot of ways to fall back in love with your job and it’s a lot easier than you might think.
Being an all around happier person and seeing the world with the glass half full is a great way to start. Having a positive attitude about work will not only make you a happier person at work, but an overall happier person. Instead of going into work dreading your daily tasks, go into work with positive thoughts.
When you first started working at your job, you probably had a set of goals you wanted to attain. Try setting a new goal for yourself and seeing if you can reach it. You could even make a game out of it. For example, if your new goal is to be more efficient with your time, time yourself while doing tasks. See how long it takes you to complete a task without messing up.
Connecting with your colleagues and the community is another way to fall back in love with your job. Try getting together with colleagues for happy hour or setting up a sports team. Even volunteering in the community and giving back with colleagues can make all the difference.
Sometimes, falling back in love with your job is as easy as taking a break. A lot of us save our vacations days for later, or forget about them. Why not take a trip and forget about work for awhile? You might come back refreshed, ready to go, and back in love with your job.
Valentines Day is a time to show love. Show your work some love and you’ll easily be able to fall back in love with it.
