May 4, 2017 – San Diego Employers Association (SDEA), a not-for-profit human resources consulting and professional development training organization, is offering a first-time aPHR Certificate Preparation Program starting on June 15th and running for 9 weeks.

The aPHR Certificate Preparation program prepares Human Resources (HR) professionals for the aPHR exam, a test offered by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).  The aPHR designation is the first-ever HR certification designed for professionals who are just beginning their HR career and want to prepare for the HRCI exam to achieve the designation of aPHR.  To be eligible for the aPHR exam, one must have a high school diploma or global equivalent.  No prior HR experience is required, as the aPHR certification is a knowledge-based credential.

“aPHR is a brand new certification preparation program and SDEA is among the first to offer the course,” said Michelle Peard, SPHR, PHRca, SHRM-SCP, who teaches the course at SDEA. “Our goal is to thoroughly prepare participants to pass the aPHR exam and receive a credential to help propel them from the early stages of their HR career,” Peard said.

Course participants will study key body of knowledge areas in order to prepare for sitting for the exam.  Topics include HR Operations, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Compensation and Benefits, Human Resource Development and Retention, and Health, Safety and Security.

The aPHR Certificate Preparation program takes place on-site at SDEA’s training facility weekly on Thursdays, beginning on June 15 and running through August 17, 2017.  The cost is $795 for SDEA members and $995 for non-members. For more information, visit www.sdeahr.org.
